Privacy policy

This policy describes how asianamericandaddy.com (the “Site”) handles information when you visit, contact us, or make a purchase.

Information you choose to provide

If you email hello@asianamericandaddy.com, the Site's editor receives the address, message, and any information you include. The Site has no public account system, comments, or newsletter signup.

Digital purchases through Stripe

The Site links to Stripe-hosted checkout for digital products, including the Plant Rescue Pack, AAD Plant Coloring Library, printable plant tools, and Family Plant Projects. Stripe may collect contact, transaction, payment, billing, location, device, and usage information under its own privacy policy. Stripe processes payment details and may provide receipts; the Site's protected delivery flow provides access after successful payment.

Stripe provides the seller with buyer and transaction information needed to deliver the purchase, confirm the license, provide support, address fraud or disputes, and handle refund requests. This may include a purchaser's name, email address, product, price, date, payment identifier, and transaction status. The Site's editor does not receive a purchaser's full payment-card number.

Where applicable data-protection law uses controller and processor roles, Stripe and the Site's publisher may have different roles for different processing activities, as described in Stripe's policy and the parties' applicable service terms.

Hosting and technical logs

The Site is delivered through Cloudflare's network using Workers Static Assets. Like other hosting and security providers, Cloudflare may process request data such as IP address, device and browser information, requested URL, timestamps, and security signals to deliver and protect the Site. Cloudflare's handling is governed by its privacy policy.

Google AdSense and advertising technology

The Site may display advertising through Google AdSense. When advertising is active, Google and its advertising partners may use cookies, local storage, IP addresses, and similar identifiers to deliver, measure, limit, or personalize advertising where permitted.

The Site uses Google's certified Privacy & messaging consent solution for visitors in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Switzerland. Google uses the choices recorded by this message to determine whether and how ads can be shown, including whether they can be personalized. On any written guide, eligible visitors can use “Privacy and cookie settings” in the footer to reopen the message and review or withdraw a choice.

Privacy-conscious analytics

The Site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand page views and page performance. Its browser beacon loads from Cloudflare. Cloudflare states that Web Analytics does not use cookies or local storage and does not fingerprint people for usage measurement. Cloudflare still processes the ordinary network request used to deliver the beacon and receive its measurement, subject to the hosting practices described above.

The Site also counts visits from broad sources such as search or social media, product-page views, cooking-article views, Cook Along starts and finishes, printable-kitchen-card downloads, use of the pantry finder, creation of a combined shopping list, recipe portion adjustments, clicks from an article to an onsite product, checkout starts, and returns after a canceled checkout. These daily totals help us understand which pages, tools, downloads, and product links are useful. Each count includes the type of action, the page on this Site, any relevant product, the broad source category, and where a link appeared on the page. Pantry ingredients, selected recipes, serving counts, full referring URLs, query strings, email addresses, order or payment information, IP addresses, browser user-agent strings, and visitor or session identifiers are not included in the count sent by your browser. A Cook Along finish records use of the final on-page control; it does not establish that a meal was cooked or eaten.

This counter does not use cookies, local storage, session storage, or fingerprinting. Cloudflare processes the network requests as described above and briefly uses a one-way hash of the request's IP address to limit automated abuse. The Site does not store that address or browser user-agent information with the counts. Only daily totals are saved, not a record of each action, so these counts cannot identify a person or reconstruct an individual's journey.

Why information is processed

To deliver, secure, and troubleshoot the Site.
To respond to email and correction requests.
To fulfill digital purchases, provide licensed access and support, and administer refunds or disputes.
To understand aggregate readership, page performance, and whether onsite product paths are useful.
To provide advertising through Google AdSense consistent with applicable privacy choices.
To comply with law and protect the rights and safety of the Site and its users.

Retention and sharing

Email, order, and delivery records are retained only as long as reasonably useful for support, licensing, refunds, accounting, tax, security, dispute, or legal obligations.

The Site's daily activity totals are kept for up to 400 days: the current day and the previous 399 days, measured in UTC. Older totals are deleted as new activity is counted. If counting stops, we delete totals older than that period. These totals contain no visitor identifier and cannot be retrieved as an individual browsing record.

Cloudflare Web Analytics, Stripe, hosting, delivery, and advertising providers set their own retention periods. Information may be disclosed when required by law or reasonably necessary to prevent abuse, fraud, or harm. The Site does not sell email correspondence or build advertising audiences from a reader's race or ethnicity.

Your choices

You can block analytics scripts or requests through your browser or content-blocking tools, block or delete cookies, use Google's advertising controls, or decline an available consent request. The Site's analytics do not set an analytics opt-out cookie because they do not use client-side storage. For email or purchase information controlled by the publisher, contact hello@asianamericandaddy.com to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection where applicable. The publisher may verify identity and retain records required for accounting, tax, fraud prevention, security, disputes, or law. Requests concerning data Stripe or Cloudflare controls for its own purposes must also follow those providers' available controls and policies.

Children

The Site is written for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. Some coloring products and adult-guided Family Plant Projects may be used by families, but checkout, setup, safety decisions, and supervision are intended for an adult. The projects work offline and do not require a child account, name, birth date, photograph, upload, comment, geolocation, or personalized online result. The Site does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
