Know who wrote a guide, where its advice comes from, and how to ask for a correction.

Originality and firsthand experience

Personal accounts describe the author's own experience. Source-based advice is distinguished from firsthand testing, and illustrative examples are identified as examples.

Sources and fact-checking

Advice draws on primary research, government agencies, university extension programs, veterinary schools, professional associations, recognized poison-control resources, official manufacturer documentation, and established culinary sources appropriate to the dish or technique. Links alongside the advice and in source lists let you consult the underlying guidance.

Health, nutrition, toxicity, food-safety, allergen, storage, and emergency guidance receives extra scrutiny. When an article lacks input from a qualified professional, the page says so and directs readers to an appropriate professional.

How guides are prepared

Material claims are checked against the sources listed with each guide. Plant guides begin with observable conditions and separate likely explanations from confirmed diagnoses. Cooking articles distinguish original editorial choices from credited adaptations, use measurements and visible cues suited to ordinary home kitchens, and link the sources that materially informed a dish, ingredient, or technique.

Food-safety, storage, reheating, and allergen statements are checked against current government or similarly authoritative guidance when appropriate. Time and yield are estimates because equipment and ingredients vary. A recipe is not described as tested firsthand unless that work was actually completed and documented.

Dates and updates

“Published” means the date an article first became publicly available. “Updated” marks a substantive change, such as new reporting, corrected guidance, or meaningful restructuring. Small copy edits leave these dates unchanged.

Images and product reviews

Images are original work or used with permission or an appropriate license. Illustrations are identified as such, and third-party image credits explain their source and permitted use. A hands-on product review describes how the item was used and obtained; a comparison based on published specifications is not presented as a hands-on test.

Corrections

Correction requests can be sent to hello@asianamericandaddy.com. Include the page URL, disputed statement, and supporting evidence. A material correction changes the article's updated date while keeping its original publication date.
